My first attempt on a semi-large canvas of oil painting in the Bob Ross style.

It was a great learning experience; nothing was really planned other than I was going to use purple and blue for the whole scene.

Too much liquid white on the canvas made it very difficult for my darker, thicker colors to stick and in the end just make it hard for the colors to stick in general.

It's my first time mixing paint, too. I think I did a good job with the purple but the blue is so much stronger than I thought it was I made my shadow color way to intense.

The lack of composition is also heavily my fault, I don't do landscapes and even though I've watched hundreds of Bob Ross episodes I still can't plan them very well, at least on the sides. I do think I got the position of the mountain okay, it's high enough yet not too high and that's probably the only thing I did 'right'. ;)

Enjoy. ^_^

Wow Jas, this is amazing. It's beautiful, it really is. It looks like a winter morning, one of those days where you have tea being made just after waking up. This is an awesome painting. :)

This is gorgeous! The brushstrokes come through so nicely, especially on the "glacier" parts in bright blue. The harsh brush lines really give it that striated icy feel.

Though the composition is great overall, I am a little confused by the grassy curved "hill" part in the middle that wraps up to the top right to meet the mountain's base. That seems to be playing with the sense of depth because it seems very close to the foreground in the middle, but connects to the mountains, which I'm assuming are farther away, with no real change in atmospheric perspective. I do think you nailed the "foggy" parts in front of the mountain and directly at the bottom. Those help give this landscape many layers.

Very beautiful work! =D

Thank you. ^_^

Those hills are meant to go in front of the mountain, not lead back to it. >.<
