First off, I did paint this, mostly. I got a cool painting lession from my husband's dad.
It's a crap photo, I know.
My husband's dad, Chris, used to paint about twenty years ago in the Bob Ross style. He used this style because it was rather fast and easy. He stopped painting around the time he started having children and only picked up his painting again last Christmas when he got a plethora of Bob Ross equipment, paint and canvases.
I was always impressed by how quickly he just picked it up again and remembers the mechanics of how to make amazing landscapes.
I did express my wanting to try painting as it's the one medium that scares me the most. I did get a water color set last year to try and be bold on and I only made one painting ([link]) and left it at that. I'm still happy with that painting and it's hanging in my house.
When Chris explained to me how easy oil painting was I decided to give it a try. Chris prepped a canvas for me, painting it in black gesso then showed me the tools I was going to use.
A sponge A one inch sponge brush A two inch painters brush A liner brush
And that's it.
He let me go after showing me how to make the trees and grass and I had a lot of fun making it.
Ooh I really like this one. It reminds me of the woods where I live during the winter time. I can also see it in your first fanfic. I can also see the fairy tail of Little Red Riding Hood taking place here. ^_^ The trees are amazing! I"m a sucker for paintings and I'd love to see your art on a postcard or a greeting card. ^_^. (I like to collect greeting cards with painted back grounds) I'm want to give this picture a 8.5/10 Keep up the great work Jasmo!
